The World...
through my Lens!
I love to travel and while doing so try to capture powerful images. With these photo's I would like to tell the stories behind diminishing tribal cultures and wildlife. And more important share the beauty of what the world has to offer!
On my blog you can read about the (sometimes unexpected) encounters I had during my trips around the world, with nature and the fascinating people living on the different continents.
My basic equipment is a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II digital SLR camera with a 70-200mm zoom objective, which I sometimes replace by a 24-70mm wide angle lens.

Galapagos Sally Lightfoot Crab scavenging the beach for food.
This photo was taken in July 2009 at the beach of Santiago (at the Galápagos Islands of Ecuador), where this charismatic species inhabits the archipelago, sometimes sharing the black seaside rocks with the marine iguanas while picking dead skin and parasites from their backs.
The Grapsus Grapsus or Red Rock Crab is a typically shaped crab, with five pairs of legs and very vibrant in color. At Genovesa it is bright orange or red with stripes or spots dorsally, pale-blue and green ventrally, and sporting red claws and pink or blue eyes. Their common name derives from their amazing ability to skip across pools of water as they move through the lava rocky intertidal zone where they scavenge and hunt for algae, detritus or other crustaceans.
